Re:
Attached materials
Date:
23 June 2001
Rose, attached is the communication from Rome.
Although it is
dated 2 June 2001, it was not received by Phyllis until June 18.
She promptly faxed the letter to me.
We have been working on the materials since they came in.
I am
attaching a copy of the materials which we have worked on.
They
are ready for the executive committee which will work on them on
Monday and they will then be ready for distribution to the member
Congregations of which there are twenty-three.
The statutes
require a two-thirds approval of the members for acceptance.
As indicated on page one of their letter, they are requesting
certain information regarding congregational statistical matters.
The congregations will forward that information to me and I will
compile it.
In your last communication, you indicated that you would not be
able to work on this project after June because of your heavy
schedule. That is something I can certainly understand.
Please let me know whether or not you have the time to write the
cover letter or not. We certainly understand if you do not.
One question which I do have regards the Nihil Obstat requested for
those congregations under diocesan jurisdiction. Does that require
a letter from the bishop or would the nihil obstat from their
constitutions suffice?
Rose, we are most grateful to you for the assistance which you have
given. This has been a very time consuming and tedious process but
working with twenty-three congregations on twenty-three different
time-tables is anything but easy.
Again, our thanks and prayers.
